Edward Waters, DNP, CRNA
Edward completed a clinical residence in anesthesia in 1996 at the Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia. He holds degrees in nursing from St. Louis University and UCLA and is currently engaged in doctoral studies at the University of Colorado. He has been a director of the National Board on Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists since October 2010.
Michael Boytim, EdD, CRNA
Michael has been a nurse anesthetist since 1984, and became employed full-time as an educator at Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia (KPSA) 1991. He currently is an assistant director for KPSA , and program director for the Kaiser Permanente Anesthesia Technology Program (KPAT). He provides both academic and clinical instruction in the KPSA and KPAT programs.
Otoniel Castillo, Cer. ATT
Otoniel has been in the anesthesia technology field since 1989. He began his career as an anesthesia technician at CHLA. He has been involved with the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians leadership to advance his profession since 2010. He has lectured at various local and national events. Otoniel has worked at various Level 1 and Level 2 trauma centers and most recently was the Anesthesia Support Supervisor at UC Irvine Medical Center. Since 2012 he has been an instructor with the Kaiser Permanente Anesthesia Technology program and currently coordinates didactic instruction.
Sandra Bordi, DNP, CRNA
Sandra graduated from Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia in 2003 and became full-time academic faculty in 2007. She holds a special interest in the areas of pain physiology and pain management, geriatrics, and endocrine physiology. She educates nurse anesthesia and anesthesia technology students while continuing to practice anesthesia at an urban Kaiser Permanente hospital.
Sass Elisha, EdD, CRNA, FAAN
Sass is an educator, anesthesia practitioner and administrator at Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia (KPSA). His areas of expertise include: pharmacology, human anatomy and physiology, vascular and pediatric anesthesia. He has been educating nurse anesthesia and anesthesia technology students in all aspects of scientific and clinical anesthesia principles since 1997.
Jeremy Heiner, EdD, CRNA
Jeremy graduated from Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia in 2004, and began as a full time instructor in 2008. His areas of interest include airway management, trauma, pediatrics, anatomy and physiology, and anesthesia simulation. In addition to providing anesthesia instruction, he currently practices clinical anesthesia in both an urban and rural anesthesia setting.
Jennifer Thompson, DNP, CRNA
Jennifer graduated from Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia (KPSA) in 2004 and joined KPSA in 2009. She holds a special interest in the areas of peripheral nerve blockade for pain management, obstetrics, and bariatrics. She co-directs the anesthesia simulation lab. She educates nurse anesthesia and anesthesia technology students while continuing to practice anesthesia at Kaiser hospital.
Administrative Specialist III
Sandra has worked for the Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia for the last 22 years as an Administrative Specialist III. She is currently completing her MBA with a concentration in Business Information Systems at Ashford University. Sandra completed her baccalaureate in Business Information Systems in February 2014 at Ashford University.
Janet has worked at Kaiser since 2001. She has been employed at the Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia since January 23, 2017.
